AI voice agent with live call transfer and video: how it works
Some customers would rather talk than type. An AI voice agent lets visitors tap a button on your website and speak to your business, with no app and no phone number needed. When they want a person, the call is transferred to your team, and it can switch to live video.
What an AI voice agent does
The visitor taps the phone button in your chat widget and speaks. The AI understands what they say, answers using your business information and replies by voice. Today it understands English and Hinglish. It saves the visitor's details as a lead, the same as the text chatbot does.
How live call transfer works
- The visitor asks to speak to a person, for example: connect me to someone from your team.
- The AI tells them it is connecting them and rings your team's dashboard. Everyone on your team who is logged in and available hears the ring.
- The first teammate to click Join call takes the call. The ringing stops on everyone else's screen so two people never answer the same customer.
- The visitor is now talking to your team member directly. If your team is not available, the AI says so politely and keeps the visitor's details so you can call back.
Switching to live video
Once a teammate has joined, the call can switch to face-to-face video. This is useful for product demos, consultations, showing a space or a problem, and building trust with a first-time customer. Either side can end the call and the other side is told right away.
Who it suits
- Clinics and consultants who want to give a first consultation without a phone call.
- Real estate and interior businesses that show properties or designs.
- Coaching and education businesses answering parents and students.
- Any business with customers who prefer speaking, including elders and people who find typing hard.
How to set it up
- Choose the Pro plan, which includes the AI voice agent, live call transfer, video and 200 voice and video minutes a month.
- Add the chatbot to your website with the one-line code. The phone and video buttons appear in the widget automatically.
- Add the teammates who will take calls under Team in your dashboard. They sign in with their own email.
- When you are ready to take calls, open Live calls and chat in your dashboard and switch to Go available. Keep that page open so it can ring.
Good to know
- Calls only transfer while someone on your team has marked themselves available. Switch to offline when you are not at your desk.
- Visitors are asked to allow microphone access, and camera access for video, in their browser.
- You can try the voice and video demos on our AI Chatbot page before you decide.
